Description
The Tabernacle venue in Atlanta, Georgia began its life in the early 20th century as a Baptist church. The congregation reached a membership of over 3,000 in the 50s, but eventually dwindled until the building was sold in preparation for the 1996 Summer Olympics. It was for that event that the building was converted to a concert space as a House of Blues, and it officially became The Tabernacle in 1998. As a major venue in Atlanta, it has hosted such major acts as Madonna, U2, and The Rolling Stones.
