Lipscomb University's spring 2012 HumanDocs Film Series presents "Racing Dreams" on Wednesday, Feb. 15. The film by Academy Award nominated filmmaker Marshall Curry, whose latest film, "If A Tree Falls," is currently nominated for an Oscar, chronicles the lives of three teens aspiring to become NASCAR drivers. This event is free and open to the public.

"Racing Dreams" follows the lives of two boys and one girl and their battle for the championship in World Karting Association’s National Series. The film captures their dreams for a win in the go-kart circuit - their training ground for NASCAR -and gives a glimpse into the dynamics of family life and the culture of professional racing.

The documentary will be a joint presentation by POV Documentary Films, Nashville Public Television, the Nashville Film Festival and HumanDocs. POV is television’s longest-running showcase for 'independent non-fiction films and shows 14-16 films every year on PBS.
