Description
Fiddler, composer, producer and educator Darol Anger is at home in a number of musical genres, some of which he helped to invent. Exceptional among modern fiddlers for his versatility and depth, Anger has helped drive the evolution of the contemporary string band through his involvement with numerous groundbreaking ensembles such as his Republic Of Strings, the Turtle Island String Quartet, the David Grisman Quintet, Montreux, his Duo with Mike Marshall and others.
Emy Phelps, the "Golden Voice of the Pacific Northwest," has been charming fans all around the Pacific Northwest for 20 years with her phenomenal voice and marvelous songs. She has toured internationally and researched indigenous music in Peru.
A founding member of Darol Anger's Republic of Strings, Brittany Haas is currently a member of the nu-alt-bluegrass band Crooked Still. Her meteoric rise to the top of the folk music world as one of today's most dynamic fiddle players stems from her uncanny rhythmic prowess and soulful melodic focus. Her repertoire centers around Appalachian mountain music played on the 5-string fiddle. She has appeared on Conan O'Brien, Ellen DeGeneres and David Letterman with banjo-playing comedian Steve Martin, and has performed all over the world.
Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist and music producer Kai Welch has toured, written and recorded with artists such as Abigail Washburn, City Of Refuge, Bela Fleck, Bobby Bare Jr., Tommy & The Whale and many others.
Lissa Schenckenburger's remarkable fiddling complements her phenomenal voice and strong identity as a Northeasterner. She has recorded eight CDs of traditional music of the Northeast, including her latest project - a pair of CDs dedicated to forgotten songs and tunes from New England, uncovered through her own archival research.
Double-bassist Corey DiMario is one of the most sought after accompanists in the acoustic music scene, adding rock solid, low-end accompaniment and driving rhythm to any musical situation. A founding member of the string band sensation Crooked Still, Corey has performed at major festivals and concert venues across North America, Europe and Australia.
