February 10, 2012 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Wander over to the emerging 20th Street cultural corridor for a night exploring all things related to bones. Think wishbones, scrimshaw, talismans, archeology, contemporary art, evolution, marrow and more! Collaborating partners include 500 Capp Street Foundation, Kadist Art Foundation, Meatpaper, Rebar Group, Southern Exposure, Salumeria, and The Thing Quarterly. This event is inspired by Meatpaper's special theme issue 16 investigating bones.
SoEx's Project: Seven Variations on Bones
Join SoEx for seven projects all exploring bones. Make a wish on a wishbone, pick a bone with an adversary, sculpt a bone, roll the bones, name that bone, and eat and drink bone inspired snacks. Also on view at SoEx new projects The Chadwicks, Aaron Maietta, and Soft Turns.

Wishbones: Erin Johnson invites visitors to make a wish on a wishbone and discuss the history of the use of bones in wish-making.
Make a Bone: Join several local artists to make small bones from a range of materials.
Bone Sounds: Amplified bone sounds echo through the night.
A Bone to Pick: A mediator works with pairs of people who have issues to resolve.
Taste that Bone: Several amateur cooks share their bone food and drinks with you.
Rolling the Bones: Craps and other dice playing games.
Name that Bone: A bone expert from the California Academy of Science's Naturalist Center identifies and describes bones from their collection.
