Description

Join us this month as we learn the art of storytelling from Jessica Piscitelli Robinson of Better Said Than Done.
Jessica is no stranger to storytelling. She’s been writing fiction since she got her first shot at fame when she won a Young Author’s Award in 6th grade. She went on to writing scripts and studying filmmaking at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and has been a regular commentator on WAMU, DC’s NPR station. She performed her first story on the SpeakeasyDC stage in 2007 and has been addicted ever since – performing stories for SpeakeasyDC, Fan-Freaking-Tastic, TEDx, SWAN Day, McLean Bible Church, WIFV, the Reston Nature House and any venue or corporate event in need of a great story. In her spare time, Jessica helps corporate clients tell their story through visual media as owner of Capture Video, Inc. She is listed as one of Washingtonian’s Best Videographers through her wedding video venture, Jessica Pi Productions.
Whose Story Is It Anyway?
In order to win a new client, get a grant, or get that next job, you need to be able to make the person sitting across from you at the table understand and care. The easiest way to do that is by developing your story.
In this short presentation and workshop, Jessica Piscitelli will share some basic steps to developing your story – whether that story is about you, the company your work for or the client who is served by your non-profit. You won’t leave with a fully written story, but will learn the building blocks for developing a tale that draws the listener in, makes them understand what it’s all about, and gets them to care about how the story ends.
