14th Annual African American Read-In

When

  • Saturday
  • Feb. 11, 2012
  • 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM

Description

At the Read-In, we spend time reading to children in small groups. Each child will be rewarded a free book, written and or illustrated by an African-American. Highlights of the event include celebrity readers; Floyd "The Super Reader" Stokes of the American Literacy Corporation along with Valerie Pritchett of Abc27 News. There will also be African storytelling, music and poetry. Although geared towards families with children ages 3 to 11, all children are welcome but must be accompanied by a guardian.

This event is free, open to the public, and refreshments will be served. We encourage families to take a tour of the museum on that day.
