Description
National Spay DayÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂâ takes place each year on the last Tuesday in February. (February 28th, 2012). Created by the Doris Day Animal League in 1995, Spay DayÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂâ is the first and ONLY international day of action to promote the spaying or neutering of pets.
On Spay DayÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂâ and throughout the month of February, the Humane Society of United States, Humane Society International, and our local Humane Society of Angelina County will promote spay/neuter as the most effective and humane means of decreasing the homeless animal population.
Our local HSAC will be at various businesses in Lufkin, Huntington, and Diboll during Saturdays in February passing out information:
-promoting the benefits of spaying or neutering;
-promoting our Low Cost Spay / Neuter Program(funded by the TLL Temple Foundation); and
-promoting the Humane Society of Angelina County.
We will have a drawing on February 28th to give away nine (9) free spay or neuter procedures. Entry forms for the drawing will be at the Humane Society(1102 N. John Redditt Drive) and at our various information booths mentioned earlier.
