Keeping up with the Thursday night solo acoustic tradition, the Seaport Grille @ Cruiseport Gloucester hosts the young and talented local performer Jake Pardee. The Seaport Grille is located on 6 Rowe Square in Gloucester. Jake Pardee will be playing every Thursday evening from 7-9 pm. There is no cover charge!
Jake Pardee has developed a unique approach to the guitar that combines an understanding of various styles well beyond his 19 years. Upon hearing Jimi Hendrix for the first time at age four, Pardee decided to pursue life as a professional guitarist and has been working tirelessly ever since. Allman, Coltrane, Hendrix, Marley, and Brown are just some of the names that have had a huge impact on the way Jake Pardee approaches creating his own music. Pardee's playing style has proven to be more than just the sum of its parts, however. Jake plays in a way that suggests his heroes, but is a sound all his own. His love for improvisation combined with his fascination for all things groove produces emotionally and physically moving experiences.
Pardee, currently a student at The Berklee College of Music, has written and composed music combining the influences of jazz, country, reggae, rock and funk. Jake has performed with famous jazz pianist Billy Taylor; blues/gospel organist Dennis Montgomery; The James Montgomery Blues band and opened for artists J Geils and Livingston Taylor this past year.
