Description

The lives of children in Woodstock, as represented in the collections of the Woodstock Historical society, are featured in “Growing Up in Woodstock,” an exhibit at the Society’s Noren Gallery at Palmer Hall now through November 1, 2010.
Photographs, toys, clothing, and school work recall memories of farm life, school days, and the activities that were part of the daily life of children in Woodstock in the 19th and 20th centuries.
A display of self portraits by this year’s Third Grade students in Woodstock elementary School brings the exhibit up to date.

Woodstock residents who grew up in town are particularly invited to visit the exhibit and add to the Historical Society’s knowledge by sharing memories and identifying individuals in some of the group school and team pictures in the collection.
The exhibit is located in the Noren Gallery at Palmer Hall, home of the Woodstock Historical society on Route 169 in Woodstock. It is free and open to the public on Sunday afternoons from 12:00 to 4:00 through October.
