THIS WEEK FEATURING: DJ PRINCE ARIES
Aries Nunez, known to the entertainment world as Prince Aries, has quite a few cards up his sleeve. Though his passion lies in music and his love for DJing, Aries became a fundamental player in the Bay Area's new renaissance - promoter, graphic designer, TV show personality, and producer - with his multimedia background placing him a cut above the rest. When his groundbreaking show, Distortion 2 Static, got picked up by the Bay Area WB affiliate station after only one season on Public Access, he knew that he had his finger on the pulse of a movement that started simply as a way to share his love for Hip Hop. "Before D2S, I was pretty much just a fan of everything," he explains about his start.
Since then, he's been able to parlay his show's success into a flourishing promotion company, thanks to his love for party-rocking, access to top-tier entertainers, and natural talent in graphic design. Aries most recently completed a twelve city tour celebrating the release of his latest mixtape, Clean Ass Whip, landing him a guest spot on the legendary Soul Assassins Radio show (the one Bay Area DJ ever to do it) and DJing at the world famous Do-Over party in Los Angeles.
