Cape & Plymouth Business continues its popular series of Economic Forecast events with a session designed to address the realities of the New Economy. In the post-recession environment, businesses must approach growth with a strategic focus - the panel of experts will give you a framework for success in 2012.
Economic Forecast 2012: Growing Your Business in the New Economy will be held February 16, 2012, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Cape Codder Resort & Spa in Hyannis.
The program will include featured speakers Jeffrey C. Fuhrer, Ph.D., of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and Michael D. Goodman, Ph.D., of the Department of Public Policy, UMass Dartmouth.
Jeffrey (Jeff) Fuhrer is Executive Vice President and Senior Policy Advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and is responsible for the Bankâ??s regional and community outreach functions. He is an associate economist of the Federal Open Market Committee, and regularly attends this key U.S. policymaking meeting with the Bank's president. He has been active in economic research for more than two decades, and has served as an associate editor for the American Economic Review.
Michael D. Goodman, Ph.D., is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Public Policy at UMass Dartmouth. Goodman served for the past eight years as the Director of Economic and Public Policy Research at the UMass Donahue Institute, the public service, outreach and economic development arm of the University of Massachusetts system. A leading analyst of both the Massachusetts and the New England economies, Dr. Goodman is a three-term past president of the New England Economic Partnership.
The event will also include a panel featuring Joel Crowell, President of the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod; Peter Muise, President and CEO of First Citizens' Federal Credit Union; and Robert A. Talerman, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank.
