Description
Richard Michelson is a poet and a children's book author who has read his works in India, Eastern Europe and now Arlington! In January 2009, his book As Good As Anybody: Martin Luther King and Abraham Joshua Heschel's Amazing March Toward Freedom, was awarded the Sydney Taylor Book Award Gold Medal from the Association of Jewish Libraries, and A is for Abraham, was awarded the Silver Medal. This is the first time in the award's 41-year history that one author has been honored with their top two awards. This event is free and open to the public and allows families to meet some of the world's most famous children's book authors and illustrators. The event will begin at 5 p.m. in the Diamond Club at the Ballpark, and the speaker will start at 5:30 p.m. Books will be available for purchase and families will have the opportunity to meet the author or illustrator and have their book signed. Tickets are not required, but reservations can be made at texasrangers.com/foundation. Parking is available in Lot B at Rangers Ballpark for all events.
