Newton Parks & Recreation announces the opening of the Farmers' Markets, Tuesdays and Fridays from July 6 through Oct. 29. Tuesday's location is Cold Spring Park, 1200 Beacon St., Newton Highlands. Friday's location is American Legion Post 440, 295 California St., Nonantum. There are 30 vendors this season featuring fresh fruits and vegetables as well as turkey pies, beef, fish, goat cheese, cider, vinegars, jams, jellies, breads, pies, cookies, ice cream, plants and flowers.
