2nd Annual BOILER ROOM PRESSURE COOKER:THE HEAT IS ON

There will be 9 contestants chosen to present their musical concept.

On each night 3 author/lyricist/composers or TEAMS will have approximately 30 minutes to get the basic synopsis and approximately 3 representative songs presented to an audience and team of judges. Between each presentation there will be a 15-20 minute talk back discussing strengths and weaknesses and potential of the piece(idea,concept). At the end of the evening - voting will occur to chose the winning show. Judging will be proportioned at 60% Judges 40%audience.

There will be of course 3 winners at the end of the festival. These three musical ideas, more fully developed, will be presented in a reading September19-21 One each night will be presented. Again each will be voted on 60/40 judges audience. One show will be chosen for a fully realized workshop and staged production at the Boiler Room in 2014.

For the event March 28-30, Contestants will be provided a keyboard and use of the sound system.

BRT will not provide actors but would gladly make recommendations. ​ Please note: this contest to include: Only Tennessee composers and authors.
