The Singing Tortoise
Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) - Nashville, TN
The Singing Tortoise will be at James K. Polk Theater in Nashville, TN - February 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
Based on a West African folk tale, The Singing Tortoise is a fun-for-all-ages children's ballet that teaches children the value of keeping your word and respecting others.
A hunter named Ama meets a magical tortoise singing in the forest. He promises not to tell anyone about the tortoise's talent, but breaks his word and suffers the consequences. Narration, whimsical costumes and a short performance time make The Sleeping Tortoise a great way to introduce dance to children of all ages.
Learn to dance like Ama, the tortoise and all of their animal friends during an interactive activity immediately following the performance!
